Mari-Leen moved to the Ipswich area after spending several years living and working in the Northern Territory. Originally from South Africa, she has a passion for animals and completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology before moving to Australia and completing a Masters degree in Applied Science, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2010.
If she is not at work, Dr ‘Maz’ is probably running around after her two energetic and rambunctious toddlers at home with husband Mat. She's also kept on her toes by Max, her Golden Retriever, and newest addition Hugo, her gorgeous Bernese Mountain pup.
Wanting to be a vet from the age of 4, Rach grew up caring for several different animals including her beautiful golden retriever, Bonnie. She applied for a nursing position at a local veterinary practice at the young age of 14, where she worked as a nurse for 8 years. She recently graduated from Veterinary School in December, before joining our team in January 2018.
Rach has a passion for small animals of any kind, although she doesn't mind the odd cow cuddle here and there! She would love to pursue further study in orthopaedic surgery one day and looks forward to getting to know all the lovely clients of Flinders View.
Jess is one amazing vet nurse who thoroughly enjoys all of the exciting opportunities and experiences her position involves. She has recently graduated from her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing after doing some earlier work in mixed practice.
When she’s not cuddling puppies at work she’s at home in the beautiful surrounds of the Lockyer Valley with horses, cattle, chooks, geese, dogs, guinea pigs and whatever wildlife may wonder through…living the life with her variety of animals! She enjoys staying active and being outdoors in her spare time so is often found adventuring around her property on horseback or going on early morning walks with her mini foxie 'Lucy' (whose tiny legs are surprisingly really quick)!
Jess has always had a passion for all animals great and small and knows nearly every personal who walks through the door, and their four legged or feathered family members !
Tamsyn graced us with her smile after relocating to Ipswich from inner city CBD living in Brisbane since a child. She’s loving the space, especially being able to see the night sky!
Tam began studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and the stars aligned for her to work with us at FVVS. She especially loves getting to know all of our wonderful clients and their beautiful furbabies.
When she’s not working or studying, Tam is a slave to her three cats, two guinea pigs, and wonder-pup 'Lee Lou' who she rescued earlier in the year. She has loved teaching Lee Lou to tag along while she and her partner Mark indulge in their passion for rock climbing, camping and stargazing.
Fresh out of school, Natalie and her partner 'Chris' left their parents' wings and got their first place together. Not wasting anytime they brought their furbaby 'Archer' into their lives, followed by their gorgeous rescue kitty 'Annie'.
All at the same time Natalie was studying her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing full-time at TAFE. She started out at our clinic as a client then sought work experience when she found out how cool we are. Within a month we offered Nat a casual position on our team.
Outside of work Natalie is kept busy being a new full-time Mummy to her cute-as-a-button son 'Henry'. When she manages to find spare time she loves going away on the weekends with her family exploring new campsites (always dog friendly), 4WDriving, and popping in to see us of course!
Once she gets the hang of being a new Mum, Nat is looking forward to fostering more four-legged babies.
Monique has been a massive animal lover her whole life and has always known that she wanted to work in the vet industry. Mon was inspired to become a vet nurse when she got her gorgeous pug Lacey, to learn how to best take care of her and to meet many more amazing animals.
Mon completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while working with small and large animals at a vet clinic in the Redlands. After 3 years of working at Redlands Vet Clinic, Mon was keen for a change of scenery and discovered the job opportunity here at Flinders View Vet Surgery which fit perfectly!
Outside of nursing Mon loves travelling the world and exploring all of the beautiful nature Australia has to offer. On her weekends Mon will often be outside camping, checking out waterfalls and beaches or walking her dogs while watching the sun set.
